Leftovers for a week,

I love Thanksgiving for that, and many, many, other reasons.
I think I'll go have my ummpteenth slice of pie now.
Don't judge me!
Hope everyone had a fantastic holiday, and found the deals they wanted, if they braved the stores.
I slept a solid 10 hours and did my shopping on amazon.com.

Is the day Alexandria Tova Marie came into the world.
She weighs 7lb. 2oz, and was born at 3:43pm.
The kid's got some hair, pointy elf ears, and is melt your heart adorable.
It was clearly love at first sight for everyone, especially my big bro.
The roads were treacherous today, and our manager at work predicted a baby would be born today, we just didn't think it would be her.




Happy birthday, Alex. And prepare for a whole lotta love, girl.

Highlight Reel.

Here have been bullet points of the last five days.
-Today marks the 3rd month of newlywedded bliss for me and hubbs!
-I'm good at my job. Really, really, really, good.
-Currently sitting at 9+ hours of overtime, and holiday pay this week to boot.
-My paycheck is going to be AWESOME.
-Had a wonderful friday with some great friends, shopping, deciding on a wedding dress, and good foods!
-My brother scored me a sweet side job that could open some big doors for me.
-Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Pt. 1 made me sob. Once. Twice. Trice.
-Saw Louis C.K.'s "word" last Saturday. Hi-LAR-ee-ous.
-It's supposedly snowing tonight? Mixed feelings on that one.
-Thanksgiving is three days away. Let the omm-nom begin!

Hello Kitty.

The image above is a cake I made For Mac's fourth birthday. Needless to say, she (and everyone else for that matter) loved it.
I was pleased with myself for the following reasons:
1. It looks prettttyyyy good, imo.
2. The only fondant on that cake is the bow, eyes and nose. kitty herself is a carved cake iced in white buttercream icing. The whiskers are straws. Which goes to show, with the right finesse, you can have smooth icing without having to resort to coating your cake in fondant.
3. I made this cake after being awake for about 27 hours. Thanks to an all night cleaning shift at work, and going to a duck football game earlier that day. The same game where someone projectile vomited down the stairs, right next to me. Time to leave!

Speaking of work, I'm doing a lot of that lately! Gearing up for the holidays on that. Bakeries and grocery stores alike get hammered on during the holiday season, so please keep in mind that while you may be stressed about that big dinner you need to cook, we have to keep in stock all the goodies you're looking for, with a smile on our face, and a positive attitude at. all. times.
Which isn't too hard for me as I LOVE the holidays, and when it's busy at work, the day goes by a heck of a lot faster.
Did I mention I love the ridiculous amount of overtime/holiday pay I'll be getting?
Maybe that's why it's so easy. Hmm. :)

Have you heard?

My brother is have a baby girl next month!



I think it's great how far technology has come with the ultrasound, but to be honest the crazy close-ups of the faces and whatnot creep me out slightly. I'm sure when I have kids I'll love it, but I'll stick with the standard side view.
And while my sister has given me two beautiful nieces, I was sort of hoping my brother would have a boy. However, I'll settle for buying cutie baby girl clothes!

Like:I'm a sucker for polka dots!

And three-piece cutie bear sets!



I think however this last one is my fave.

Flannel onesie with a butt flap that says "naughty" for Christmas?
OH YEAH.

While I'm very excited to have children, hubbs and I decided to hold off, for a while. There's a lot we want to accomplish, and I'm not even 23 yet! Plenty of time, so stop asking! :D

Cough, Sneeze, Ache, Repeat.

Hub and I are currently suffering through the first cold of the season.
It's quite the doozey.
Sore, raw throat (TWSS) achey everywhere, inner ears hurt, coughcough, sneezey runny nose.
This is the stuff dreams are made of.
I should say I lucked out and have the next four days off from work, which I guess is good for me physically, not so much financially.
Did I mention hubs has a sinus infection to boot?
Winners right hurrr.
A cup of sleepy time tea and a dose of NyQuil is calling my name...
